New Month, New Views
No, I didn't fall off the end of the world. I just haven't been around enough to blog.
A few things to ponder and whine about:
A few things to ponder and whine about:
- I've ordered the remaining base and rookie cards I was missing from my 2006-07 UD Victory set, which makes it the first complete hockey card set I've had in a few years.
- Not that I'm tooting my own horn or anything, but by simply monitoring my poritons, carb calorie and fat intake, eating more veggies and moderate exercise, I've managed to get down from 260 back in like May or June to a shade over 205.
- I'm using the latest version of Internet Exploder... er, I mean, Explorer, to write this article. I'm not entirely impressed by the browser, but that's probably because I've gotten so spoiled with Firefox. I do like the tabbing ability, but I don't care for the inability to move the toolbars (specifically, the Command bar, where the home/print/advanced buttons are now drop-down menus).
- I have now been to two Admirals games. I can say with some certainty that this team is NOT going to be getting back to the Calder Cup finals anytime soon. The word "rebuilding" comes to mind, especially as most of the players that got the team to the playoffs the last three seasons are not only no longer here, but they're no longer in the Nashville system. And I'm slowly getting used to the new sweaters - and waiting patiently for my customized jersey to come in from Hockey Haven. Skullboy, though, is not my cup of tea, no matter how silly the explanation of the logo is.
- I am now tied for first in my NFL Fantasy League division, two games out in my Yahoo Public League, and in the seventh seed in the vaunted NQRFPTFL. Not bad for a basically crappy lineup. By the way, a little tip: don't believe the projected point totals, especially in NFL Fantasy leagues. You're more apt to see players go for huge games based on opponents, not on their "projected totals".
