Kansas City, Hey, Hey, Hey

Well, unfortunately, it's official: The Pennsylvania Gaming Board awarded the slots license to a Detroit-based gaming company (the one that runs the Windsor Casino) - and not to Isle of Capri.

The winner of the license has said he would contribute $7.5 million per year towards a new arena - but the Penguins would have to foot the bill for the rest of the cost of the place.

Which means they won't be building a new arena.

Which also means that the Penguins are likely headed elsewhere - like Kansas City, for example.

Which means... the Detroit Red Wings would be headed to the Eastern Conference, to be replaced by Sid the Kid, Evgeni Malkin and the Penguins.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing just yet, but it's a terrible day for Pittsburgh and hockey in general right now.
